Mostly missing the point

http://finance.yahoo.com/college-education/article/109701/placing-the-blame-as-students-are-buried-in-debt?mod=edu-collegeprep

Everything in the article is relatively even-handed and I was even somewhat sympathetic, until we get to the real crux of the problem:

"She recently received a raise and now makes $22 an hour working for a photographer. It's the highest salary she's earned since graduating with an inter-disciplinary degree in religious and women's studies.

Does anybody think this would seem such an insurmountable problem if she had a degree in a technical or engineering discipline? Perhaps she might even have learned the logic to question her financial choices in a course of study which included actual knowledge.

  1. I would make a comment on this topic but I already did, on my own blog. I actually wrote it for a class.
